In very good condition overall. Internally generally very clean with some light foxing. There are two plain front free end papers that have soime splits. There are a few pages that have a centre crease that appears to have been issued that way rather than have suffered damage. Some fascinating in text woodcut illustrations and diagrams etc. The binding is generally sound and the blue cloth boards are still in good condition. See photograph. The leather spine and corners are worn to the extremities. It is important to look at the photos we have available on our website and on request to abe customers. The dates for Volume one of Edinburgh Journal of natural History are No 1 Oct 1835 to Jan 1839 with index and is 180 pages. Vol 2 is Feb 1839 through to May 1840 and is 60 pages with the index bound in after the Animal Kingdom. The Animal Kingdom of the Baron Cuvier is dated 1840 and is 58 pages and is vol 2. This is followed by Animal Kingdom (presumed vol 1) dated 1839 196 pages. If you are interested I am open to offers for the book with postage at costing addition.
