THE TOMOHAWK: A SATURDAY JOURNAL OF SATIRE (2 VOLS)
2 volumes in two matching contemporary tomahawk bindings. These are the books of plates - many folding and in generally excellent condition. There was one plate per issue and these plates dates from May 11th 1867 - June 18th 1870. These volumes appear to be complete with 90 plates in volume 1 and 68 in volume 2. The original heavy cloth boards are in good condition with bright gold but have some scuffing / damage to some of the extremities. The Bianco Library website has 6 pictures of this book including both medium and large images. This description is to be read in conjunction with these photographs.

Bianco Library is based in Billingshurst, West Sussex, UK. Some of the books currently being offered come originally from an antiquarian collection established over more than 30 years with many being new to the market. Our books are stored at the appropriate steady temperature and humidity.

Previous to Autumn 2003 our books were only available through ABE.
To help improve the service offered to our many customers worldwide we are building up a large gallery of pictures and enhancing our book descriptions. This website has been developed to enable us to have multiple images and support the enhanced book descriptions, particularly for the more rare items. Also through this site you can browse/search all our numerous book categories at your leisure. We hope you enjoy the experience.

We offer rare, antiquarian and out of print books primarily to collectors. We use the following Condition Categories: Virtually as New, Excellent, Very Good, Good and Working Copy.

Virtually as new means no apparent defects, price clipping or marks (unless specifically mentioned in the detailed book description). We normally describe the condition of boards and spines separately and in addition to contents. For magazines and leaflets “book condition” describes the contents and “jacket condition” the magazine covers. To assist collectors we try and offer magazines individually (subject to a minimum order value of £10 + P&P).

We do not have a shop with permanently manned telephones therefore, please use e-mail or fax to make initial contact.

Enjoy the website and we look forward to hearing from you shortly.
