Description / Information:
Packed weight = 00.20kg Minimum postage applies. In the period before the Meccano Magazine had covers. The first coloured cover appeared in July 1923. These were printed on relatively poor quality paper and as a result, are very difficult to find in complete and undamaged condition. Those for 1922 were issued bi-monthly up to and including July / August are 8 pages (issues 22-25 inclusive). 26-28 inclusive are 12 pages and were issued monthly. The early pre 1922 paper suffers from age browning to various degrees. The quality for 1922 is a little better and generally tends to be a little less age browning. January shows a model of the Forth Bridge, has two folds and in common with most early Meccano magazine has some rust marks from staples. The paper is bright. March / April has some marks on the bottom back page. May/June is unusually bright with an interesting article on Zulu clockwork trains and has one small stain mark on the front cover; a hint of rust marks but no significant edge wear. The first 3 are £30 each. July / August has age browning and a stain on the rear and has a splendid mechanical navvy on the front. This volume is £25. September is the first 12 page issue and has folds with some wear, rust from staples and one rust mark on the outer edge and some scuffs and marks on the back but is nonetheless a good complete copy (£25). October is a very good complete copy with minor foxing and minor ink mark on front page. Interesting adverts for Hornby trains and Meccano on the rear. (£30). November has two horizontal folds with some wear on the folds, a couple of light stains on the back page and some edge browning (£28). No December issue for sale. All have some creases but are generally in good complete condition. Please contact us with details of particular issues you require. We also have a significant number in the period 1920 - 1981. Prices varying according to condition and scarcity. Buying more than one book will save on postage costs. We have split our books into 70 + categories.
