In excellent condition with excellent line illustrations and all plates as called for. Some occassional light foxing. Excellent full leather binding with the spine relaid. Five raised bands. Marbled end papers. Sound binding with bright gold banding to edge of both front and rear boards. Decoration and lettering on spine are bright. Includes a fascinating contemporary description of the laying of the Atlantic cable. Written at the time of the first great success of July 1866. Lovely item.326pp.
