Description / Information:
A first edition in very good condition. Scarce in this condition. 48 exquisite colour plates (47 by F H Round and one of seeds by Miss R M Cardew) and a further 30 line drawings C W Johnson. The colour plates were printed using a three colour screen process - a method that was at that time replacing chromolithography. Very clean endpapers and the rest of the inside is spotless - no signs of foxing. The front board is slightly worn at the top and bottom - the back board has a small mark. The leather is in excellent condition with only one or two small marks near the top. The spine is slightly duller than the rest of the leather but still bright. All gold on the covers is bright and in excellent condition. All corners are likewise in excellent condition. T.e.g. 245pp.
