The title page is crammed full. "A complete system of improved live stock and cattle management or the practical guide to gentlemen, store-masters, farmers and other keepers of stock in perfecting the breeds and varieties of the several kinds of live stock....." R W Dickson M D printed for Thomas Kelly 1826. Volume 2 of a 2 volume set. 510 pages complete with index for both volumes. Page 510 lists the plates for both volumes. This volume has 19 superb plates as called for. These lovely plates are generally clean and bright with little discolouration. These include aerial view with 6 detailed views of heated poultry house, useful domestic dogs, improved beehives and their apparatus, heavy team breeds, improved hoggery and feeding conveniences, improved pigeon houses and nest apparatus and moving power or muscles of the horse. The pages are clean and bright with little discolouration. The original three quarter leather and boards were damaged and have been retained and re-laid so the binding is tight and secure. The original endpapers are in good condition and are retained. The outer marble papers are worn. Internally the book is excellent and hardly appears to have ever been read. The page corners are crisp. I can see no sign of any pages having been taken out. All looks to be in order and complete. 510pp. This book has 2 extra pictures that can be viewed.
