Description / Information:
A fantastic first edition in very good condition indeed. One of the most successful of all the gift books of this period. Only 1000 copies were printed. Over 100 pages embellished with initials and decorative wood engravings printed in red and black and six splendid chromolithographed illustrations. Bound in very elaborate papier-mache boards, which are pierced to show a red background. These boards are in very good condition with very little signs of aging and only a few small areas with very small cracks. Humphries gathered his material from sources such as Froassart. The cover design is taken from the Black Prince's tomb. Gilt edges. Buying more than one book will save on postage costs. We have split our books into 70 + categories.
