Description / Information:
Packed weight = 01.70Kg. Volume 2 only in good condition overall. Mostly very clean internally. Some foxing to first few and last few pages. Good decorated boards with bright gold and one or two marks. Slightly worn spine with a 2 inch split on the top right-hand side hinge. 588pp including the index to Volumes 1 & 2. Case loose relative to binding, but not split. Contemporary yellow end papers without inscriptions. The corners to the pages are crisp. The front board has an attractive decoration in gold and black on red cloth shoeing a lion amongst plants with attractive decorative wording "The History of India". Copiously illustrated with many excellent engravings. 89 chapters. Includes the war with China of 1860. Buying more than one book will save on postage costs.
