Description / Information:
Packed weight = 02.30kg. Please note that this is a heavy item and may require extra postage. Please contact us using the 'Ask the Bookseller a Question' link before placing your order. For non UK customers special arrangements apply to parcels weighing over 5Kg (the limit for Canada is 2Kg so this book is not available to that country). This is a fantastic book - extremely well illustrated in black and white and many coloured illustrations. These are wonderful illustrations taken from the drawings held in the collection of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The cover is a coloured picture of the great Exhibition building of 1851 as relocated and extended on the Sydenham site in 1853 showing the gardens and the fountains. The book is split into 9 chapters- seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth century, Arts and Crafts, Modern Movement, continuing classicism, garden buildings, garden ornament and concluding with "Towards the 21st century". There is not a better presented book on this subject. 320 pages. I can thoroughly recommend this book as a private collector particularly interested in gardens, design and the history of Gardens. This book is virtually as new condition. Lovely bright clean green cloth boards and spine. Virtually as new complete dust wrapper without any clipping or chipping. Very slight creasing to top edge of spine. 320pp.
