Description / Information:
Both Vols first editions both in very good clean condition. 2 vols. With early colour printed plates as well as numerous black and white engraved illustrations. Very little foxing in text. There is some foxing to the black and white plates but it is mostly fairly minor. The boards are in good condition the gold lettering is still bright. Vol 1. has a good quality colour photocopy of plate 27 printed on quality paper. Vol 1 776pp. Vol 2 867pp. Total of 1073 illustrations. Plate 28 is frontis for vol1 Plates 1 to 26 and 30 to32 black and white (22not called for). 27 ,28, 33,34 chromolithographs of layouts. 1853 early for colour printed plates of this quality. Very interesting plates on garden structures incl. glasshouses/ stoves at Kew, Dalkeith Palace, Sion House and Killikee and elsewhere. The photo is of the boards. We have more photos of the contents.
