Description / Information:
A first edition in very good condition. 27 hand coloured plates as called for and 12 black and white plates. 2 small paper losses from 2 folding plates (not affecting the pictures themselves). 3 double fold drawings. Only very limited foxing of plates, much better than normal for this volume. Contemporary binding is tight and is in mostly good condition. Leather a little worn, but spine bright. Boards are in good condition. 988pp. Photo is of rhododendron arboreum. We have photos of the boards and of more of the contents.
